Kearny Man Arrested After Deadly Bow-and-Arrow Attack and Home Fire Standoff

A Kearny, New Jersey man faces significant charges after a bow-and-arrow attack and police standoff. In police arrest, Oscar Feijoo, 44, allegedly killed and ruined a man’s home.
An arrow hit 45-year-old Harrison resident Pablo Criollo near Kearny and Johnston Avenues late Saturday night. First responders took Criollo to University Hospital in Newark at 6:45 p.m., critically injured. He died soon after. Hudson County acting prosecutor Wayne Mello emphasized the horrific attack and unusual weapon.
Local cops suspected Feijoo instantly. While searching for the offender, police recommended adjacent homeowners to stay indoors. Feijoo barricaded himself in his Kearny Avenue home when officers found him.
At 5 a.m. Sunday, Feijoo allegedly set three fires in his home, prompting a multi-alarm call to five fire stations The fire was contained by Hudson County Regional SWAT after hours of fighting.
He emerged with knives at 1 p.m. after hours inside after the fire was quenched. No officers or people were wounded in his arrest.
Feijoo faces first-degree murder, aggravated arson, and weapons charges. As the investigation continues, prosecutors may pursue further charges. Court documents did not mention Feijoo’s arrest attorney.
Rare weaponry and home fires shook the town. Police thanked emergency responders for extinguishing the fire and capturing the suspect and requested public assistance in the manhunt.
