John Stamos, best known for playing Jesse Katsopolis on “Full House,” plays a hazardous role in Netflix’s criminal drama “The Hunting Wives.” The actor admitted his role on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” prompting doubts about the show’s bold topic.

Based on Mary Cobb’s blockbuster novel, “The Hunting Wives” debuted in July. Brittany Snow plays Massachusetts mother and wife Sophie O’Neil, who moves to East Texas. Sophie meets attractive and influential socialite Margo Banks (Malin Akerman), who introduces her to a group of secret ladies. The community’s dark secrets make the story scary and compelling, especially after a teenage girl is found dead in the woods these women visit.

Season two will feature Cam Gigandet, Dale Dickey, Kim Matula, and Alex FitzAlan to deepen the story. Jaime Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, George Ferrier, Karen Rodriguez, Hunter Emery, and Branton Box will revisit the first season’s intricate relationships and conflicts.

Sophie and Margo’s friendship is tested, but surprises and buried truths bring them back together in season 2. As the show mixes predator and prey, viewers will mistrust character intentions.
