Ice Cube’s Tour Bus Catches Fire in Portland, Police Confirm It Was a Random Act of Vandalism

The downtown Portland Ice Cube tour bus fire last month was not targeted, according to investigators. Portland Police believe the early September 23 Southwest Oak Street and Broadway fire was random vandalism.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the car fire. No one was hurt when bus smoke was evacuated. The investigation into the fire’s cause continues, although police have found no incendiary device. CCTV footage is being examined by detectives to identify fire cause and culprits.

Ice Cube claimed his team owned the damaged tour bus on social media. Not my bus. It was crew bus. Hotel-front parking. All slept upstairs. Nobody hurt. Unbroken gear. Bus burnt by coward. The bus was in Oakland for service, he tweeted X.

The 56-year-old rapper assured local media the event was not personal. Good thing no one was hurt and his tour gear was unharmed.

For his 40th anniversary, the hip-hop legend is touring for “Truth to Power: Four Decades of Attitude”. Ice Cube has performed despite fear, showing his loyalty to fans.
