HHS Secretary RFK Jr. Appears in Unconventional Fitness Video With Kid Rock, Drawing Online Backlash

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s strange workout video with Kid Rock has drawn online criticism. The video, shared Tuesday on Kennedy’s official X account, encouraged Americans to exercise and eat clean. It was soon mocked and debated on social media.

The video begins with both men shirtless under “Rock Out Work Out.” A montage depicts the pair working out, eating, and using gym equipment. Kennedy wears jeans during workouts, which caught viewers’ attention. Kid Rock makes an obscene gesture toward the camera while riding an exercise bike.

The footage continues with odd scenes, according to online users. Kennedy takes a frigid dip in jeans. He then asks, “Where’s Kid?” and finds the musician in a pool. After playing pickleball, Kennedy leaps into the water again, completely dressed. In one scene, they consume full milk in the water.

The video’s soundtrack contains Kid Rock’s explicit song “Bawitdaba,” which addresses topless dancers, methadone clinics, the IRS, booze, and narcotics. Critics questioned whether the song’s lyrics fit a government health official’s public message video.

X received a rapid, unfavorable response. Shots of Kennedy exercising with Kid Rock in the background went viral.

Politicians and commentators slammed the video. According to former Republican adviser Sofia Kinzinger, seniors should be taught social media “dos and don’ts”. Republicans Against Trump bluntly questioned what they had just seen. Former Trump aide Alyssa Farah Griffin was surprised by her response. Republican Sarah Matthews said taxes fund many problematic projects, but this video may be the worst.

One social media user posted a photo of Kid Rock’s obscene gesture, wondering whether it promotes family values and adding that taxpayers finance the Department of Health and Human Services. Milo Edwards, a comedian, advised followers to view the complete video since it was more startling than brief clips implied, especially Kennedy’s decision to leap into a pool while clad.

California Governor Gavin Newsom also intervened. The governor’s office posted a video screenshot and a mocking comment about Kennedy’s drug use.

Kennedy’s public health message has included fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications. He manages government health policy and promotes national wellness as HHS secretary. His workout video seems to support his message to get Americans moving. Critics say the tone and presentation may have downplayed the message.

The controversy shows how public authorities struggle to engage consumers on social media. Unconventional content can garner attention, but top government leaders may face backlash. This advertising, meant to inspire, became a trending issue for criticism.

Kennedy’s official social media account continues to get comments on the video. As public officials increasingly use digital platforms to communicate directly with citizens, moments like this show how quickly public opinion can shape a message, especially when it comes from a high-ranking federal official.
