‘Get off YOUR a–’: Marjorie Taylor Greene Explodes at MAGA Loyalist Demanding She Stays in Congress

It was reported this week that Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene fought right-wing broadcaster Mike Cernovich over her early resignation. Last Friday, MAGA enthusiast Greene revealed she would resign from her House seat on January 5, 2026, startling supporters and critics.

Greene explained in a multi-minute X video that she left early to shield her district from a “hurtful and hateful primary” against her. She worried about the GOP losing ground in the 2026 midterms. Greene said she did not want to support former President Donald Trump following his campaigns against her, which she characterized attempts to destroy her political career.

Trump’s withdrawal of support for Greene led to her resignation, severing their connection. The former president called Greene a “ranting lunatic,” “traitor,” and “disgrace” to the party. Greene said such statements could be a “dog whistle” to violent extremists, endangering her and her family. She said the political climate is becoming more hostile and could become violent.

The situation worsened when Mike Cernovich publicly urged Greene to finish her term, rejecting her concerns about internet political poison. Greene responded sharply, asking if her service was only adequate if she was in danger. She blasted online bloggers for criticizing from behind screens while she faced public office pressures. Greene confronted Cernovich, ordering her to “get off your a– and run for Congress,” arguing that she had encountered much greater problems than social media commentary.

Greene also criticized Cernovich on her congressional account, calling his demands “typical” of Republican men and dismissive. She vividly illustrated the hardship on regular Americans, condemning systemic political dysfunction and its detrimental effects on families across generations.

Cernovich later said that Greene had committed to a full term and that it was fair to expect her to finish. He said he had backed Greene in her political career and denied insulting her, saying her outburst did not fit the occasion.

Several additional Republican House members are allegedly considering quitting mid-term owing to internal party tensions, loyalty tests to Trump, and censures or public condemnation. GOP lawmakers have complained about party leadership disdain and high expectations, questioning their ongoing service.

Greene’s loud exit and public conflict with Cernovich highlight MAGA and Republican Party splits as political temperatures grow. Her early departure may be a turning point for her district and the political landscape, exposing intra-party disagreements and the challenges of balancing personal safety, loyalty, and public duty.
