A car garage in Fort Lee catches fire, and a firefighter gets hurt while fighting the very strong fire that has started there.
A rescuer gets hurt while trying to save people from the flames in the Fort Lee garage because of the big fire.
On Thursday afternoon, a Fort Lee car repair shop on Bergen Boulevard was smoking and burning. That event altered events, requiring more assistance. A lot of people paid attention. Someone got sick while putting out the fire and needed medical help.
The police say the fire occurred at 4:30 p.m. in an office building at 1440 Bergen Boulevard. The building was in Bergen. The Fort Lee Police and Fire Departments both headed to the scene soon away. People who were present stated they could see smoke from a few streets away and that fire vehicles were on their way. They only mentioned one thing: that it was a mess.
One of the firefighters got hurt when they were trying to put out the fire. At the time of the incident, though, they didn’t think the injuries were life-threatening. Someone from the Bergen County Arson Task Force has been sent to find out where the fire started because it was that nasty. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office is currently looking into what ignited the fire that killed the person. Together with the fire departments in the surrounding places, this investigation is being done.
You can still take alternate routes through the area right next to the garage because it is still considered an open emergency zone. Both drivers and walkers should stay away from Edsall Boulevard and the connector that goes from Route 1 South to Bergen Boulevard while the investigation and cleanup work are still going on.
The government hasn’t said much more about how terrible the damage is, but early photographs suggest that the fire inflicted a lot of damage to the building that the garage is in. People in the neighborhood are being told to stay away from it until officials say it is safe as a safety measure. Everyone in the region has gotten this request.
As the authorities work to understand what happened in this awful case, keep checking back for additional news.
