Beloved West Cape May Restaurant Finds New Owner After Exciting Auction
A popular West Cape May restaurant changed hands after a much-anticipated online auction. The restaurant, famed for its unique atmosphere and local charm, sold on December 18, attracting restaurateurs and investors.
Known for his Wildwood restaurants Venezia, La Cantina, and Santorini’s, Florian Furxhiu won the bid. While the exact sale price is unknown, the auction ended a months-long process that began in September.
Restaurant owners and property developers submitted multiple bids, according to auction manager Bob Dann of Tranzon. “We had strong competition, and I am pleased that Florian secured this iconic property,” Dann added. Interest in the restaurant shows its enduring attractiveness as a business and local institution.
Before the online auction, Jack Wright’s property was offered for $4.7 million through standard real estate channels. Wright’s auction route allowed purchasers from a larger area to participate, attracting attention in the local real estate and hotel businesses.
Online auctions are becoming more popular for selling high-value Jersey Shore restaurant assets. The new proprietors are anticipated to retain the restaurant’s popularity and possibly improve its eating experience.
West Cape May, recognized for its dynamic culinary scene, looks forward to Furxhiu’s leadership. Locals and foodies expect the restaurant to continue as a cultural and social magnet while embracing future growth.
