Americans voice growing frustration as shutdown blame shifts toward Trump and Republicans

According to recent data, many Americans blame Trump and House Republicans for the shutdown. The GOP fights poorly.

Who is responsible, how should the government have handled the closure, and when will it reopen? The standoff was placed on Trump and Republican congressional leaders by 39% and Democrats by 33%. Five percent blamed both sides equally, while eight percent weren’t sure.

People across resented how national leaders handled the shutdown. Trump or House Republicans unpopular with 53%. Democratic disapproval was 52%.

A few Americans notice the shutdown. 7 percent were “really” affected, 14 “somewhat” and 25 “a little” 544 were unaffected by the outage.

Unsure how long the closure would last. The duration was unknown to 39%. 21% expected one to two weeks, 21% three to four, and 16% longer than a month. Only 3% predicted a week-long government reopening.

Polls also showed that many want to pay shutdown-displaced government workers. Managers discussed implementing that universally. 71% backed worker pay.

The October 10–13 1,622 adult study is 3.5% off.

By Sept. 30, Congress adjourned without a bill. Over two weeks ago, shutdown began. Democrats opposed Republicans’ short-term budget because it didn’t fund Obamacare.

Both teams are deadlocked without a restart. Republicans want the government to address bigger concerns now. Dems won’t fund proposals without healthcare extensions.
