Abandoned French Bulldogs Found in N.J. Park, One Survives with Glass in Stomach

Two sick and abandoned French bulldogs were rescued in a Monmouth County park last week. Diamond and Sapphire, two malnourished pups, were found huddled in the cold, causing immediate concerns about their health and safety.
A pedestrian near Shark River Park called the Monmouth County SPCA after seeing the little dogs in the bushes. Diamond, a dog, had problems walking when SPCA officials arrived. X-rays and urgent care revealed something terrible. Emergency surgery saved Diamond’s life when glass pieces filled his stomach.
Uncared-for animals are at risk, as the SPCA believes the dogs ate deadly stuff while hunting. Diamond takes stomach medication in the ICU. Rescuers are cautiously sure she hasn’t damaged her organs beyond repair, but they must monitor her for two weeks.
Sapphire, the second bulldog, is looked after and adopted. The SPCA is inviting adoption applications so she can have a secure and loving home after her tragedy.
If you know where these French bulldogs came from, contact the Monmouth County SPCA Law Enforcement Division. This case illustrates the dangers of abandoned pets and the importance of local rescue groups.
The Monmouth County SPCA emphasizes responsible pet ownership, including proper care and not abandoning pets in harmful situations. Their quick response may have rescued Diamond and improved Sapphire’s prospects.
