A Third Inmate Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances at New Jersey Federal Prison

A Saturday morning death was found at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution. The prisoner was 25. The third odd death this year. At 2:15 a.m., EMS reported Puerto Rican narcotics dealer Jarette Morales dead.
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst detention staff have not disclosed Morales’ death location or cause. No prisoners or jailers were wounded. FBIP reported Morales’ death to FBI per unexplained death standards.
Morales killed two Fort Dix prisoners this year. Marcos Sanchez-Santana, 35, from Puerto Rico and Javier Francisco Villalba-Reyes, 35, from Mexico perished in March and April. Federal officials haven’t confirmed both convicts’ deaths, thus the low-security prison’s fatality record is suspect.
Morales received 76 months for weapons possession and cocaine preparation. Fort Dix was his home from July 2024 to 2026. at 2020, Morales and 19 others were charged with cocaine trafficking at Rincón Taíno and Pedro Descartes public housing in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. He confessed and was sentenced November 2022.
FCI Fort Dix is one of the largest US government prisons with 4,001 inmates. After Sean “Diddy” Combs arrived, the feds recognized the jail.
The Fort Dix murders this year have raised concerns about prison safety and monitoring, but federal officials have not linked them to foul activity. Police may release more as they investigate Morales’ death.
Detention deaths raise worries about other prisons and government facilities. Prisoner families and support groups are seeking complete investigations and transparency after fatalities.
