4-Year-Old Child Struck by Pickup Truck at New Jersey Camp, Rushed to Hospital

On Thursday afternoon in Cumberland County, a pickup truck hit a campfire and critically injured a child. Police in Vineland reported the crash on North Delsea Drive at Malaga Camp Meeting Assembly. Police said the 4-year-old was riding a toy bike on the road.

A 44-year-old Vineland man hit the youngster with his pickup while driving slowly through the campground. The child was badly injured when the truck crashed gently, so fire and police took him to Cooper Trauma Center. Accident witnesses hospitalized the toddler.

Driver will allegedly not be charged. Vineland Police Traffic Unit is examining the pre-crash events. Police work requires competence.
