20-Year-Old New Jersey Woman Dies in Clifton Hit-and-Run, Police Investigating

A Clifton, New Jersey, hit-and-run murdered a 20-year-old woman early Saturday morning. Case under investigation by police. Paterson native Kamaya Young was found dead on the northbound side of Route 21 at Route 3 west Exit 9, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

A woman was found on the road about 8 a.m. by rescuers. However, Young died soon after rescue arrived. The driver probably fled after the crash because automobile parts were recovered nearby. Police hope these car pieces will assist them find the crashed car and the perpetrator.

Police have not described the suspect or car. Police encourage anyone with information to come forward during the investigation. Police stressed that even tiny information from witnesses or drivers nearby at the time of the crime could assist them make an arrest.

The young woman killed in this hit-and-run saddens Clifton and Paterson residents. Drivers in New Jersey are angry about the frequency of hit-and-runs and want better safety and law enforcement.

New evidence may help the police find Kamaya Young and reassure her family.
